COVID-19: Nothing is wrong in total lockdown if necessary -Tinubu

National Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Tinubu Tuesday passed vote of confidence on Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State, saying that that the party chieftains are in support of the state government’s approaches so far on the management of the COVID-19 pandemic and would support a total lockdown in the state, if necessary.

The former governor, who also called for the replication of social distancing, regularly hand-washing and other precautionary measures to be practiced in the market places, said that the diseases would leave Nigerians with some lessons and safety practices.

Speaking at the State House Marina, Tinubu congratulated the Sanwo-Olu-led state government for frequent briefing of the residents on the latest developments in the management of the virus, saying that residents and indeed Nigerians need information on the deadly virus.

He said: “First of all, we have to congratulate the government of Lagos for what is being done so far doing be so far due frequent information. Nigerians need a lot formation in this challenging period. We are facing a serious enemy in COVID-19. We have to observe that social distancing, it is a new culture that we have to practice and abide with. I congratulate the governor for asking workers to stay at home we must respect that – particularly our students. Also activities in the market must reflect the new culture.”
