JUST IN: President Buhari makes new appointments

TRACKING_____President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the appointment of a new Commissioner for Insurance/Chief Executive Officer for the National Insurance Commission (NAICOM).
In a statement issued on Sunday and signed by the Special Adviser to the Minister of Finance, Yunusa Abdullahi, the new NAICOM commissioner is Sunday Thomas.
According to Abdullahi, Thomas was the former Director-General (DG) of the Nigerian Insurers Association, adding that he will be replacing the immediate past commissioner for Insurance/CEO, Mohammed Kari.
He added that President Buhari has also ratified the appointments of two board members for Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation (NDIC).
Abdullahi said Mrs. Ya’ana Talib Yaro has been appointed as a Non-Executive Director representing the North East, and Mrs. Diana O. Okonta has also been appointed as a Non-Executive Director representing the South-South region.
He noted that the appointments take immediate effect.
