The Lagos State House of Assembly has officially removed Barrister Olalekan Onafeko from his position as Clerk of the House following the expiration of his tenure. Onafeko had held the role since January 14, 2022, serving as the administrative head of the legislative body.
The announcement was made on Tuesday by the Speaker of the House, Rt. Hon. Mudashiru Obasa, during proceedings on the Assembly floor. Obasa stated that the decision was in line with the completion of Onafeko’s approved term in office.

Among the confirmed appointments is Hon. Latifat Ogbara, who was named Chairman of LAHASCOM. Her confirmation places her at the head of the body responsible for personnel management within the legislative arm of the state.
The House also confirmed Remi Bello as a member of the Commission. Bello’s inclusion adds to the composition of the commission, which plays a supporting role in maintaining institutional efficiency within the Assembly.
These confirmations were carried out during the same plenary session, reflecting a broader effort by the Assembly to address administrative and governance matters.
