PDP Chieftain mourns exit of Bayelsa founding father, political icon, Late Francis Doukpola

TRACKING____The immediate past Commissioner of Education, Bayelsa state and chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party, Dr. Jonathan Obuebite has described the death of one of the founding fathers of Bayelsa state and political icon, Chief Francis Doukpola as a big loss to the PDP family, the Ijaw Nation and the Niger Delta region.

Dr. Obuebite who described Late Doukpola as a leading light noted his contribution to the creation and the socio economic growth of Bayelsa State.

Late Doukpola, according to him, is a patriot, dogged fighter, a strong believer and formidable force in the struggle for the actualization of resource control, saying though he didn’t leave to see it, it will surely come.

He said the history of the Ijaw National Congress, (INC) would not be complete without his name being mentioned, describing him as one of the strongest pillars upon which the Pan socio cultural group rested.

Dr. Obuebite reiterated the commitment of the late Ijaw icon to the founding of PANDEF with the sole aim of uniting and presenting the position of the Niger Delta region in the comity of other ethnic nationalities on true and fiscal federalism.

Late Doukpola is an advocate of Resource control and True federalism. His position on resource control has further endeared him to the heart of Ijaws at home and in Diaspora.

Dr. Obuebite added that the late foremost nationalist and seasoned administrator had contributed in no small measure to the unity and successes of the Peoples Democratic Party in the State and Nationally.

Chief Doukpola is an Apostle of peace and a grassroot politician. His contributions had assisted the party in coasting home to victory not only in Sagbama, his local government area but in the entire State.

Dr. Obuebite acknowledged his support, contribution and steadfastness to the Hon. Henry Seriake Dickson’s led Restoration administration for eight years and said his demise would create a big vacuum that would be difficult to fill.

Hon. Dr. Jonathan Obuebite also sent his condolences to our Miracle Governor, Sen. Douye Diri and his Deputy, Sen. Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo and the former Governor, Hon. Henry Seriake Dickson.

His words, Our father and mentor, Chief Doukpola left the stage when is service and contribution is mostly needed.

He came, He saw and He conquered.
