Leaders, stakeholders, women, youths, and party faithful from Brass Constituency II, Ward 5, have declared total support for Hon. Dr. Amalanyo Afatei Yousuo’s aspiration to represent Bayelsa East Senatorial District under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The endorsement was made during a townhall and stakeholders’ meeting held on Sunday ahead of the APC primaries scheduled for Monday, May 18, 2026. The ward unanimously adopted Yousuo as its consensus candidate for the senatorial seat.

Speaking on behalf of the ward, Hon. Chief Ambrose Alfred said the emergence of Amalanyo Afatei Yousuo represents justice, fairness, and inclusiveness for Brass Constituency II, which he noted has not had the opportunity to produce a senator despite Constituencies I and III occupying the position over the years.

He described Yousuo as “an answered prayer” and expressed confidence in his ability to effectively represent Bayelsa East at the National Assembly.

Stakeholders at the meeting also resolved to mobilize support across Ward 5 during the APC primaries to ensure the victory of the aspirant.

Several community leaders, including Chief B. S. Okolo, Chief Omielagha S.E. Orufawari, Acting Amayanaowei of Ibidi Community Chief Igetei, and Madam Dielanye, pledged their support for Yousuo’s ambition, describing him as a grassroots leader with the competence and character needed for the position.

The meeting ended with chants of solidarity and unity as supporters reaffirmed their commitment to the aspiration of Hon. Dr. Amalanyo Afatei Yousuo ahead of the primaries.
