Friends mourn Nigerian medical doctor who died two days after passing out from NYSC

TRACKING____Friends of a Nigerian medical doctor, Urenna Samuel Iroegbu, have taken to social media to mourn her following her death two days after she passed out from the mandatory National Youth Service Corps.

Promise passed out from the scheme on Thursday, July 16, and died on Saturday, July 18. She was said to have been involved in an accident. She was taken to the hospital where she died on Saturday.

A friend of Urenna, Nduka Martha, who took to Facebook to mourn her, wrote

Urenna Samuel Iroegbu you’ve shattered our hearts???…Just two days after your NYSC POP and you are no more, how????This wasn’t part of the plans we had…Nooooo..we had greater plans….now you’ve left your family and we, your friends…The squad will never be the same without you… I was in denial all night wishing the morning could change the news to something pleasant…but no, you are really dead…you are gone…After all the struggles in school, internship and NYSC…after all the 8years of endurance, after the celebration on 16th July 2020…Ure, you left us…Why please? You were a fighter and I’m so sure you fought to stay alive…. The vehicle you were in was shattered but you made it out in one piece and we were told you were responding to treatment, only for us to still hear last night, you were dead…How???? Samuel Promise Urenna, How????…Now that we were supposed to enjoy life, you couldn’t stay for it… I’m happy you lived your short life in a good way…You were so caring, humble, smart and fought for us your friends and family…This is so disheartening….I wish you well my friend…… Doctor Iroegbu Samuel Promise Urenna, may you find peace…and may God give your family that met your corpse instead of their happy Ada the fortitude to bear this loss… Ureeeeeeeee….Urenna, I won’t get to hear your voice again or even see you laughing again…This is really a hard pill to swallow…God knows best!!!!
