You Can’t Scrap The Amnesty Programme, IYC president Blows Hot.
TRACKING____The president of Ijaw Youth Council IYC Worldwide Comrade Peter Timothy Igbifa have come out strong to blast the presidency that the plot to scrap the amnesty programe meant to carter for Niger Delta Youth should remain a rumour or else it will plung Nigeria into a set of crisis.
That the programme according to Igbifa,has other parts just beyond payment of stipends to beneficiaries.
If we recall, a committee was set up by the Federal government to appraise the presidential amnesty program and submit recommendations and findings to the presidency. Unconfirmed reports has It that the committe made recommendations that the program be scrapped.
Speaking further the president in council said as a matter of urgency that the presidency should appoint a Special adviser to the program to oversee the office so that the pending looming crisis the delay has caused can be averted.
