2 Policemen Arrested Over Ibadan Serial Killer’s Escape
TRACKING ___The Oyo State commissioner of Police, Joe Nwachukwu Enwonwu has disclosed that two policemen have been arrested in connection with the disappearance of a suspected serial killer, Sunday Shodipe from police custody in Ibadan.
He said that an off-duty police Inspector is the prime suspect in the serial killer’s escape at Akinyele local government area of the state.
Enwonwu, who stated that an Inspector of Police, who was on duty while the suspect escaped, had also been arrested, detained and facing an orderly room trial.
The police boss vowed to properly investigate the circumstances surrounding the escape of the suspected serial killer.
He also promised to arrest all those involved in the escape of the suspect from police custody, with stern directives to his men to be at alert with a view to dealing decisively with criminal elements in the state.
According to him, the arrested policemen are currently undergoing orderly room trial proceedings for their involvement, assuring that there would be no cover up.
The escape of the suspect had attracted several reactions and condemnations from many citizens of the state.
The police boss assured the people of the state that the police would do everything to ensure the re-arrest of the suspect.
“We will do everything to ensure that Oyo State is crime free,” he said.
