PRIORITIZE THE HEALTH OF BAYELSANS – HEALTH COMMISSIONER CHARGES HOSPITAL HEADS

TRACKING_____The Bayelsa State Commissioner for Health, Dr. Pabara Newton Igwele has admonished all Heads of Hospitals to take personal responsibility for their hospitals.
While meeting with them on Tuesday, he said that even though there are challenges faced by the health institutions, they have to put in their best as a sign that they have the good of Bayelsans at heart.
The Health Commissioner pointed out the need for them to see their work as service to humanity, saying they can fix certain problems in their institutions even before the intervention of government.
According to him, the Governor Douye Diri led administration will continue to keep the health of Bayelsans as top priority which has been eagerly demonstrated within a short time in office.
Dr. Igwele also expressed his desire to meet with all past commissioners of health, Permanent Secretaries, Directors, Provosts of Institutions, all heads of health related agencies and unions to proffer solutions to the challenges in the health sector.
He revealed the summit which will birth an operational road map for the next few years, will have in attendance representatives of the World Bank and other donor agencies to foster collaboration and make the state’s health sector an example to others across the country.
In his response, the Chief Medical Director, Hospitals Management Board, Dr. Benjamin Tabowei thanked the Commissioner for his willingness to find solutions to their challenges.
He also charged the Heads of Hospitals to be diligent, making sure that doctors are at their duty posts at all times to manage health emergencies promptly and save lives.
Dr. Tabowei said no service rendered to humanity is a waste, so when they are called to serve, they should prioritize the well being of Bayelsans.
