Murtala Gwarmai, senior special assistant on youth development to Abdullahi Ganduje, governor of Kano, has “empowered” some youth with donkeys.
Gwarmai reportedly said the beneficiaries requested the donkeys to aid them in transporting sand, gravel, and blocks so as to boost their business.
Other items distributed include motorcycles, bicycles, building blocks, roofing sheets, among others.
The distribution reportedly took place at the premises of the state’s ministry for youths and sports development, with over 40 beneficiaries.
The governor’s aide said he would sustain the programme.
Kabiru Ado Lakwaya, commissioner for youths and sports and Ibrahim Ahmad, senior special assistant on youths II, are among the government officials that attended the event.
