Popular Nigerian Afrobeats superstar, David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has warned that he will seek international intervention if anything goes wrong during the 2026 Osun State governorship election.
Davido issued the warning during a live online conversation with comedian Carter Efe, according to a report by Daily Post published on Friday, August 7, 2026.
The singer, who is an indigene of Osun State and a member of the influential Adeleke family, said he would closely monitor developments surrounding the election and would not remain silent if he observed any attempt to compromise the electoral process.
Speaking about the forthcoming poll, Davido stressed the need for the election to be conducted in a free, fair and credible manner.
He specifically referenced President Bola Ahmed Tinubu while discussing the political situation, warning that any irregularity capable of undermining the integrity of the election would attract his attention.
“I would involve United States President Trump if anything goes wrong in the forthcoming Osun State governorship election,” Davido said.
His comments come amid heightened political activities ahead of the 2026 Osun governorship election, which is expected to witness a keen contest between the major political parties.
The Adeleke family remains a prominent force in Osun politics, while the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) is also intensifying its mobilisation and preparations ahead of the election.
Davido has over the years openly supported members of his family involved in politics and has leveraged his substantial social media following to mobilise public support for their political activities.
His latest remarks are expected to generate further reactions from political stakeholders and supporters as preparations for the Osun governorship election gather momentum.
