The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has arrested popular luxury lifestyle businessman Afolabi Kazeem Michael, better known as “KC Luxury,” over his alleged involvement in an international cocaine trafficking network.

According to the anti-narcotics agency, KC Luxury is suspected to be a leader of a cartel allegedly involved in moving cocaine through Nigeria to destinations in the United Kingdom, Europe and Asia.

The businessman had gained significant attention on social media for showcasing expensive automobiles, luxury items and an affluent lifestyle, which he attributed to his business interests in the luxury sector.

However, the NDLEA said its investigation uncovered alleged links between him and an international drug trafficking network.

The agency said KC Luxury and some of his associates were arrested in connection with a cocaine consignment reportedly destined for the United Kingdom and valued at approximately N39 billion.

NDLEA Chairman, Brig. Gen. Buba Marwa, described the seizure as the agency’s largest-ever cocaine interception through the courier channel.

Marwa said KC Luxury was arrested on August 13, 2026, at the boarding gate of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos, while allegedly attempting to leave the country on a business-class flight to Paris.

He explained that the arrest followed intelligence indicating that the suspect was preparing to leave Nigeria.

According to the NDLEA, operatives recovered €7,750, £2,800 and N100,000 in cash from the suspect, in addition to expensive jewellery.

A subsequent search of his luxury apartment on Banana Island, Ikoyi, Lagos, also reportedly resulted in the recovery of several exotic vehicles.

The agency said the operation had disrupted what it described as a major international cocaine trafficking network and its alleged use of Nigeria as a transit hub for illicit drugs.

The investigation is ongoing as the NDLEA works to establish the full extent of the alleged network, identify other suspected members and determine the channels reportedly used to transport cocaine from Nigeria to destinations across Europe and Asia.

KC Luxury remains presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in accordance with the law.
