African Democratic Congress (ADC) chieftain Dino Melaye has claimed that opposition parties are holding talks to form a broad coalition aimed at defeating President Bola Tinubu and the APC in the 2027 general elections.

Speaking on Arise Television, Melaye said opposition figures, including Peter Obi and Donald Duke, are open to discussions on working together.

He expressed confidence that a majority of opposition parties would eventually unite, saying their objective was to remove the APC from power in 2027.

Melaye also dismissed the APC’s nationwide political structure of governors, legislators and party officials, arguing that the electorate would ultimately determine the outcome of the election.

According to him, Nigerians are dissatisfied with the government because of issues including economic hardship and insecurity, and are already determined to vote against the ruling party.

The former lawmaker further claimed that President Tinubu is receiving intelligence reports showing that his political position is weakening and alleged that the administration is becoming concerned about opposition cooperation.

> “The president is getting intelligence reports and knows he is on his way out of the Villa,” Melaye claimed.

However, Melaye’s statements are political assertions and predictions, not established facts. The extent of opposition cooperation and the eventual outcome of the 2027 election will depend on future political alignments and, ultimately, the votes of Nigerians.
