The Nigerian Army have arrested a suspected kidnapper and recovered an AK-47 rifle and ammunition in Ikpoba-Okha LGA of Edo State.
The suspect, identified as Olamide Oyeniyi, was arrested on Saturday, September 12, at Obaretin community along the Benin–Sapele Road.
Soldiers recovered an AK-47 rifle, one magazine and eight rounds of ammunition, as well as a mobile phone, bags, torchlight, music box and charms.
The suspect is now in military custody while investigations continue to determine his possible links to kidnapping and other criminal activities in the area.
