Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has taken a swipe at Kwara State Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq over what he described as the governor’s frequent references to him.
Speaking during an interview on Arise TV’s Prime Time, Wike alleged that Abdulrazaq blames him for virtually anything that happens in the governor’s office or residence.
The former Rivers State governor said the Kwara governor had become overly focused on political gossip instead of concentrating on the responsibilities of his office.
“Anytime he sees a snake, it’s Wike. Anytime he sees a reptile, it’s Wike. Any day he doesn’t eat, it’s Wike,” Wike said.
Wike made the remarks while reacting to the political controversy surrounding the Rainbow Coalition’s support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s 2027 re-election bid and criticism from some APC governors.
He alleged that Abdulrazaq was using the controversy to divert attention from political challenges within Kwara State.
Wike further questioned the governor’s political record, alleging that several serving lawmakers elected under the APC in the state had been replaced during his tenure.
According to Wike, the development raises questions about the governor’s political strategy and leadership.
The exchange adds to the growing political disagreements among influential figures and party stakeholders ahead of the 2027 general elections.
