Insecurity: Bwacha advocates constitutional roles for monarchs
Providing constitutional roles to traditional rulers spread across the country has been identified as one of the surest ways that will cripple the security challenges presently bedevilling the country.
The Deputy Minority Leader in the red chamber of the National Assembly, Senator Emmanuel Bwacha, who came out with the suggestion during an interactive session with media practitioners in Jalingo, the capital of Taraba State, believes that assigning constitutional role to monarchs across the country would go a long way in checkmating activities hoodlums.
Bwacha who is the incumbent senator representing the southern geopolitical zone of the state on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) tenaciously held that the role being played by traditional institutions in the maintenance of peace cannot be ignored.
He said should the leadership of the country deem it fit to include the monarchs in the security architecture of the nation, the present security predicaments the country is enmeshed in would soon be a thing of the past.
While challenging all citizens irrespective of political affiliations to make the issue of security and safety their priority, especially the National Assembly, where he belongs, he said such would help to stamp out hoodlums from the country.
