Benin Republic Court To Consider Sunday Igboho’s Bail Application On Friday
The Cour De’appal De Cotonou will consider the bail application of Yoruba Nation agitator, Sunday Igboho, on Friday, July 23.
TrackNews Online had earlier reported that a Benin Republic court in Cotonou on Thursday ordered the Yoruba activist to be returned to detention.
The court during the ruling also ordered Igboho’s wife to be released and directed its officials to return the passport and other documents seized from the wife of Yoruba Nation agitator, Ropo.
An official who spoke about the case said, “They just finished from the court. The wife is to be released this night and Sunday is to remain in custody. The matter was adjourned till Friday.”
Igboho is awaiting his fate at the Cour De’appal De Cotonou, Benin Republic, following his arraignment by the authorities of the country for immigration-related offences.
The activist was arrested at Cardinal Bernardin International Airport, Cotonou, Republic of Benin, with his wife on their way to Germany on Monday night.
