Police arrest four robbery suspects, kidnappers in Kogi

Four robbery and kidnap suspects have been arrested by the Kogi State Police Command.
The arrested suspects are Guda Dangana, Dogo Chure, Dekina Zhiya and Samson Nyizo, all from Bassa Local Government area of the State.
The Police Public Relations Officer, (PPRO) DSP William Ovye Aya, who disclosed this in a statement sent to DAILY POST on Wednesday evening, said the four suspects have been terrorizing Bassa Local Government and its environs
Aya stated that following credible intelligence, the suspected kidnappers and armed robbers were sighted in a compound at the new Jerusalem Oguma area in Bassa Local Government.
He said Operatives of the Nigeria Police Force attached to Bassa Division led by the DPO promptly swung into action to effect their arrest.
Items recovered from the suspects, according to Aya include one locally made Pistol, one 7.62mm ammunition, one cartridge, one G3 ammunition and two human skulls.
“The suspects made useful confessions on a series of criminal activities within the Bassa axis,” he added.
He said that the Kogi State Commissioner of Police, Idrisu Dauda Dabban has assured members of the public that Kogi State Police Command, in collaboration with other security agencies in the State, will not rest in on its oars but will continue the onslaught against criminal elements in the State to ensure that Kogi remained the safest State in Nigeria.
Aya noted that the arrested suspects would be arraigned in court upon completion of investigation.
