EFCC Chairman Says,Social Media Created Diezani’s ‘Diamond Bra’,

Crimes Commission (EFCC) Chairman, Abdulrasheed Bawa says reports that a “diamond bra” was part of items seized from ex-Petroleum Minister, Diezani Alison-Madueke, are false.
The anti-corruption chief made the clarification when he featured on Your View, a TVC programme.
In October, the Commission named assets forfeited by Diezani. They include properties in Banana Island, Foreshore Estate, 125 wedding gowns and 13 small gowns.
Others were 41 waist trainers, 73 hard flowers, 11 suits, 11 invisible bras, 73 veils, 30 braziers, 2 standing fans, 17 magic skirts, 6 blankets, 1 table blanket and 64 pairs of shoes.
Bawa explained that the EFCC was yet to auction them but “working towards that”.
“There was nothing like a diamond bra. It is just a creation of social media. I can tell you that for free because I am the lead investigator”, he said.
The senior police officer revealed that the EFCC secured 1, 576 convictions between January to November 2021.
Bawa further disclosed that over 2,000 arrests were made, while 122 persons charged to court were discharged and acquitted.
“The 3,816 officers of EFCC have been working round the clock to ensure that we solidify our stand in the country as an institution.
“We are collaborating with stakeholders from within and outside the country. We are deliberately trying to change some strategies”, he added.
