JUST IN!!! Yobe State Police Arrest Five Kidnap Suspects

The Yobe State Police Command, on Monday, said it has arrested five suspected kidnappers in their hideouts at Fika, Potiskum and Gujba Local Councils.

This was contained in a statement by the Yobe Command’s Public Relations Officer, ASP Dungus Abdulkarim.

According to him, four other members of the kidnap syndicate are at large, just as he said operatives are searching for the fleeing suspects.

He further said the security will continue with the massive clampdown on hoodlums’ hideouts in Fika, Potiskum, Gujba and Gulani Council.

He added that one Idi Isa, 56, of Karem village in Fika council was rescued, after being kidnapped on March 31, 2022.

He said the arrest became possible based on credible information from members of the public.

According to him, through credible information, the detectives from Fika Divisional Headquarters, on April 17, 2022 mobilised to a hideout of kidnappers in Nafada Council, Gombe State where the suspects were trailed to an isolated house.

He said the suspects used the house for the safe keeping of kidnapped victims, before ransoms are paid by their family members.

The statement added that all the suspects confessed to the crime, in addition to other crimes committed in various parts of Yobe and Gombe States.

The State Police Commissioner, Haruna Garba, urged the people to continue with their support by providing credible information for the fight against crime.
