17B monthly Allocation for the past six months. – The accountability question of the Diri led Government

By APC Integrity Group.
In the past six months, the allocation from the federation sharing formula has clearly increased with the increase in the price of crude globally.
Bayelsans have been denied the right to know the financial activities of this government, in violation of the transparency law passed in the first year of the administration of Diri’s predecessor.
Besides there’s no record of any tangible achievement in any sector despite the huge and steady inflow into the state.
This is the worst and most rudderless government in the history of Bayelsa as a state.
The blame still goes to the former governor and in many quarters have equally been faulted for deliberately distancing himself from Diri as this has rather caused more harm than good.
Many in defense of Dickson align with the fact that because Diri suddenly assumed power that was literally handed to him on a platter while lacking in governance experience, consultative and consensus building capabilities, got quickly corrupted and as such constrained Stakeholders to distance themselves.
But why must Bayelsa continue to endured this bitter pill, for how long?
The APC Integrity Group therefore calls for a state-wide protest to demand the Diri led government to tell us what they have used our collective resources to for since he assumed office.
We appeal to the Bayelsa State House of Assembly to step up and do the needful as documented legally.
The deputy governor, who was visibly the most workaholic commissioner in the previous government, has suddenly been relegated to the background. Whether it is deliberate or imposed by the system is what time will reveal.
The saddest development of Diri and his government is the boldness with which he expends public funds in organizing remembrance ceremonies for his mother that died nine years ago, one he never organized both as a member of the house of reps and as senator.
How can a right thinking governor, use state funds to celebrate a mother that died nine years ago.
We challenge anyone to provide evidence showing previous times Diri celebrated his late mum. Why will Bayelsa State be reduced to this level where state apparutus will be deployed for a remembrance ceremony.
Which of his predecessors would one say he is trailing, is it Chief Alamieyesiegha, GEJ or Dickson? Even Chief Sylva who is relatively social by personality amongst his predecessors, never expended state funds nor forced the entire government to relocate to his home town to attend a remembrance event.
Since Diri assumed office, Bayelsa has gradually become a laughing stock, we are loosing our pride as the Jerusalem of Ijaw nation no wonder Governor Wike had the temerity to use degrading words to qualify our institutions.
We call on the Bayelsa State House of Assembly to do the needful as this is not the Bayelsa we desire.
