The National Leader of the New Nigeria Peoples Party, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso has visited former President of Nigeria, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo.
TrackNews reports Kwankwaso who is also a 2023 presidential aspirant of the NNPP visited the former Nigerian leader in the company of a former ally of President Muhammadu Buhari, Buba Galadima.
This online news platform reports the politicians met at the residence of Chief Obasanjo in Abeokuta, Ogun State.
Sharing pictures from the visit which took place on Friday, 20th May, the NNPP on its official Twitter handle wrote; “His Excellency Sen. @KwankwasoRM , PhD, FNSE, Presidential Aspirant and National leader of @0fficialNNPP
in company of Engr. Buba Galadima paid a courtesy visit (20th May, 2022) to Former President Chief Olusegun
@Obasanjo in Abeokuta, Ogun State.”
Below are some pictures from the visit.
Though the details of the visit were yet to be made public as of press time, it is believed to be a consultative visit as part of efforts by the NNPP to win the 2023 elections in Nigeria.
Recall Galadima during a recent interview said Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso is the best candidate to replace President Muhammadu Buhari in 2023.
He claimed that Kwankwaso, a former Kano State Governor, will run unopposed on the platform of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP).
The one-time ally of President Muhammadu Buhari said the popularity of the NNPP is making the APC and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) shiver.
He said: “There are only two political parties in Nigeria today: NNPP and the rest. It is the winning party.
“It is 22 years old but reinvented two months ago. We’ve seen [shivers] across the spines of all those that you fear because they know that our candidate will be the next president of Nigeria, God willing.”
