Who Is Michael Olomu?

I am Michael Olomu. I used to be the erstwhile Senior Special Assistant to the Managing Director, Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC). I am from Sagbama, Bayelsa State. I recently emerged to represent my party as a candidate in the general elections for Candidates jostling for the House of Representatives, Sagbama/Ekeremor Federal Constituency.

What Would You Do If You Are Elected To Represent The People Of Sagbama Ekeremor Federal Constituency?

Currently, there is no foresight and there has not been meaningful laws for the people of Sagbama Ekeremor Federal Constituency. If given the opportunity, I have the national contact. I have been everywhere in this country and has the contact to security and all. If given the opportunity I am going to perform.

Can You Talk Briefly About A Few Of Your Achievements while Serving As An SSA At The NDDC?

You can visit Gossy Water 4km road, I attracted it. The Old House of Assembly Complex Road in Yenagoa. All the NDDC projects in GRA including the swampy but dualized 2km road behind the former Governor’s House at Opolo where you have the Area Command now. I attracted all these projects. The road before Assembly Quarters (High Chief Road) was also facilitated by me. If I am opportune to be vested with the mandate to represent, I will do the best.

You are a philanthropist. How can You Talk About Your Philanthropic Gestures And Their Effects On Your People?

Since 2017, when I didn’t envisage contesting at all. I have been embarking on free medical health outreach. I have gone to Ofoni and Ebedebiri including so many other communities. A minimum of 100 persons have benefited from the free medical facilities. I recently purchased over 100 JAMB Forms for students between Sagbama and Ekeremor. So we have been doing it in our own little way and not as elected members. If we are elected and given the opportunity, we are going to do more.

What Would You Say Is The Factor Behind Your Emergence As APC Candidate?

Let me tell you I have been a financial member of the party for the past three years. I am responsible for the financial cost of the Council Secretariat in Sagbama. Even my close contender knows, we are both from the same community. I have always identified with the Executives. I go to the village regularly, built a house in the village. I have built houses for party members in the village, in fact, from the eldest political actor in the village, Chief Clarke (the Acting Amanawe of the community). I constructed a befitting 4-Bedroom Bungalow for him. So, I have done so much that the community had to say outside me, there will be nobody. But she (my opponent) felt bad as a woman. I sympathize with her as a sister and in due time I know she will support me.

What Would You Say Is The Legacy Of APC And The Reaction Of The Generality To The Party In Bayelsa?

My candidacy cuts across all political parties. Members of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) are ready to support me. I am a philanthropist and I do my philanthropism within and outside my party, APC. As far as you are from Sagbama/Ekeremor I don’t play party politics. I am the the Candidate to be sought after.
