Senate Begins Screening Of Buhari’s Ministerial Nominees
The Nigerian Senate has commenced the process of screening the ministerial nominees sent to the National Assembly by President Muhammadu Buhari.
The Senate on Wednesday commenced the screening of the nominees sent to the lawmakers by President Buhari last week Tuesday.
Tracknews understands the ministerial nominees are set to appear before the Senate Committee.
President Buhari in his letter, sent a list of seven nominations for the replacement of ministers who resigned to pursue their political interests in the 2023 election.
In the letter sent to the Senate President Ahmad Lawan on Tuesday, Buhari said the nominees would replace the former ministers that resigned from his cabinet.
The nominees are: Henry Ikechukwu Ikoh – Abia State; Umana Okon Umana (Akwa Ibom), Ekumankama Joseph Nkama (Ebonyi); and Goodluck Nnana Opiah (Imo).
Others are Umar Ibrahim El-Yakub (Kano), Ademola Adewole Adegoroye (Ondo) and Odum Odi (Rivers).
