Police officers from the Lagos State Command’s Ojota Division are currently investigating the death of an 82-year-old woman, TrackNews reports.
Before her death, the woman, identified as Augustine Ayodele, shared a home with her maid at 20 Niyi Ogunleye Street in Ojota.
“She had marks of violence on parts of her body, including her forehead, implying that the deceased was stabbed to death.”
Her body was then evacuated and taken to the Yaba morgue for autopsy.
Meanwhile, the deceased’s maid has been arrested and questioned by homicide detectives.
The Public Relations Officer of the Lagos State Police Command, Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed the incident and stated that an investigation is underway.
“When police detectives arrived at the crime scene, they discovered marks of violence on the deceased’s body.” Her body is being autopsied at the morgue.
“Police have also arrested the deceased’s sole maid.” Homicide detectives are currently questioning her,” he added.
