Ademola Adeleke, the Peoples Democratic Party’s governorship candidate in Osun State, has clarified his remark about the dollar and the pound ahead of the state’s gubernatorial election on July 16th.
Adeleke claims that his comments on Dollars and Pounds were not intended to buy votes.

Remember how Adeleke stated in a viral video during a campaign that he would be bringing Dollars, Pounds, and other foreign currencies?

During a governorship debate hosted by Channels TV in collaboration with Situation Room, the PDP Governorship candidate promised to bring investment to the state if elected on July 16, 2022.

Adeleke went on to say that he would use his international contacts to bring investors to the state.

He promised to reduce corruption to a bare minimum so that investors would not be hampered in their decision.

“You know I’m an international guy,” Adeleke explained. I have connections, and whatever I say here should be verified. We are running for governor, but we must first consider what we have done in our state.

“How much have you invested in your state before bringing in investors?” I will ensure that corruption is kept to a bare minimum so that investors can be confident that their money will not end up in their pockets.

“That’s exactly what they’re thinking. They are aware of what is going on. Every day, they check. Which state are they coming to invest in, and which road will they take? I’m speaking with my people. They are prepared to invest in Osun State. I will make every effort to combat corruption.”
