Ibekimi Oriamaja Reports.

The Indigenous People of Biafra have advised Catriona Laing, the British High Commissioner to Nigeria, to postpone her intended trip to the region’s South-East.

The group made the call after alerting authorities to a potential assassination plan involving the visiting envoy.

The plan, according to IPOB, which asserted it received the information from its intelligence division, the M-Branch, is to assassinate Laing in the South-East and attribute it to its members, according to IPOB.
The group cautioned that the information became necessary to alert the world of the assassination plot, saying, “We value the sanctity of life,” after revealing that the British envoy to Nigeria had “deep enmity” for the actualization of Biafra restoration.

This was said in a statement released yesterday by Emma Powerful, the IPOB Director of Media and Publicity.

“The global movement and family of the Indigenous People of Biafra, under the leadership of Mazi Nnamdi Okwuchukwu Kanu, wish to advise the British High Commissioner, Catriona Laing, to be more conscious of her environment,” the statement said in part.

“We further urge the British High Commissioner to cease her frequent excursions to various regions of the Nigerian countryside, particularly to Biafraland, sometimes known as the South-East.”

This real security advise is being given in an effort to save her life. We have the utmost respect and esteem for the sanctity of life, especially visitors to our country, in spite of her hatred for Biafra and Igbo in particular.

“According to the most recent intelligence that our M-Branch, the IPOB Intelligence Unit Department, has intercepted, there is a planned conspiracy to carry out a sacrifice significant enough to increase the intensity of British animosity toward the Igbo and Biafra. This high-profile plan is focused on using a powerful individual who can garner headline news around the world as a scapegoat.

The leadership of IPOB hereby advises Ms. Catriona Liang to halt all planned activities involving travels within Biafran territories as a matter of life and death.

Those who feel threatened by the Biafra restoration project have developed evil plans to assassinate Ms. Catriona Liang, the British envoy, on Biafra territory. This will give Britain a prompt and convincing justification to stop supplying weapons to Ukraine and redirect those supplies to Nigeria for use against Biafrans.

They want to kill as many native Biafrans and other people living in Biafra land in order to put an end to the self-determination movement.

“We want to make it crystal clear to the international community that IPOB is a non-violent, de facto self-determination movement and that we respect diplomatic relations as well as the value of diplomacy.

“IPOB has not changed our peaceful, non-violent agitation into an armed struggle despite the Nigerian government’s unprovoked attacks, arrests, torture, illegal detentions, rape, killings, and forced disappearance of our family members, especially our youth,” the group stated.

“IPOB does not wish the British envoy death or dead,” it continued. She will be regarded suicidal if she disregards this advise and steps into the trap that the opponents of the Biafra movement have already laid.

“We also want to make it clear to the people behind the attempt to kill a British envoy that the restoration of Biafra will not even be slowed down, let alone stopped. Therefore, even if we have effectively thwarted their scheme, we warn the British envoy to be vigilant at all times.

“It is important to note that despite being the target of unfavorable attitudes, Igbophobic, and Biafraphobic policies on the part of the British, we have never attacked British persons, citizens, institutions, investments, or properties of any kind, and we do not have such intention now or in the future.
