Climate change: Lagos plans to plant 5,000 trees across 57 councils in July.

Ibekimi Oriamaja Reports.
As part of its efforts to mitigate the effects of climate change, the Lagos State Government plans to plant 5,000 trees this month across the state’s 20 local government areas and 37 local council development areas.
Dr. Obafemi Hamzat, Deputy Governor of Lagos, stated yesterday at the Dr. Abayomi Finnih Recreational Park in Oregun that tree planting would continue to play an important role as the state government forges a 21st Century environmental health architecture that balances natural resources with health and prosperity.
