Osun 22: See How Voting Begins In Osun
Mohammed Oluwatimileyin Taoheed reports,
Voting has now kicked off in the Osun Governorship election, with electorates coming out in their full numbers to vote for their preferred governorship candidate.
Mr. Gboyega Oyetola, the current governor of the state and candidate to the All Progressives Congress (APC) is contesting against Ademola Adeleke of the Peoples Democratic Party and other governorship candidates, the Track News Nigeria learnt.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) had earlier declared that Osun State has a total of 988,923 registered voters.
The governorship election is taking in 3,763 polling units across 332 registration areas in 30 local government areas of the state.
Recall our reports that fifteen political parties in the state are struggling to win the race to the government house as seen in our earlier report.
The preparation processes have been on around 8am at Abogunde/Sagba Ward 2, Unit 9 Ede North where the gubernatorial candidate of the PDP, Ademola Adeleke, would cast his vote as expected.
But voters are taking their time to check through the INEC register in some polling units as reported.
