Zamfara suspends the Emir for bestowing a title on a bandit leader.

The state government has suspended the monarch with immediate effect, less than 24 hours after the Emir of Birnin ‘Yandoto of Tsafe Local Government Area in Zamfara State, Alhaji Aliyu Marafa, conferred the title of Sarkin Fulani on a notorious bandit leader, Ada Aleru.
The government has delegated authority over the emirate to Alhaji Mahe Garba Marafa, the District Head of ‘Yandoto, according to a statement issued by the Secretary to the Zamfara State Government, Kabiru Balarabe Sardauna.
The state government also formed a six-member committee to investigate the emir’s actions, led by Yahaya Chado Gora.
