Country Director stated that UTA will construct two modern hospitals in the FCT.
Ibekimi Oriamaja Report
Two modern hospitals will be built in Abuja, according to United Town Agency’s Country Director, Chinyere Amalaha.
In Abuja, Amalaha announced that the organization would not only rehabilitate but also equip other primary schools as part of its first set of Rural Community Projects (RCP) in Nigeria.
Amalaha revealed to the media in Abuja that the agency’s immediate plan was to launch Humanitarian Activities in vulnerable rural communities of the Federal Capital Territory.
She stated that UTA’s focus was on increasing access to safe drinking water, quality healthcare, and education in FCT rural communities, and that it is a source of regret and shame that several rural communities in FCT, Abuja, lack basic social amenities.
According to Amalaha, the UTA Board will select the locations of these projects in consultation with the FCT Traditional Rulers Council.
“We can’t just fold our arms and let the government handle everything,” she said. Let me quickly mention that UTA Headquarters in Geneva has not yet provided us with funding for the projects, but they expect us to take the initiative and will support us later if they see evidence of our seriousness and transparency.”
“It is also within UTA’s work plan to seek to defend the political rights of Nigerian electorates in the 2023 General Elections by ensuring that their votes count,” Amalaha continued. Free, fair, and transparent elections are the foundation of a democratic government.”
“As an observer, the UTA will thus constructively participate in the electioneering process.” The inalienable right of people to vote and be voted for without fear of molestation or inducement must be protected. “We will work closely with the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).”
While expressing gratitude, Amalaha stated that this is an auspicious time to express profound gratitude to the UTA Headquarters, particularly the Beautiful, Brilliant, and Vivacious Secretary-General, Eya Essif, whose enormous support, encouragement, and facilitation led to her victory in the recently concluded election in Geneva, Switzerland, involving over 100 countries, adding that the Almighty God made it possible for her to bring the UTA Crown to Nigeria.
“My election as President of UTA is a clarion call to action and a big challenge for Nigeria to join the Community of 110 nations to prove its mettle and that we are truly the African giant by taking the lead in humanitarian projects, Human Rights Protection, United Nations Social Development Goals, and scientific endeavors, which are the hub of UTA’s interventions in various countries around the world.”
