Nigerian Airlines suspended indefinitely
By Adeleye Kunle
Dana Airlines has been suspended indefinitely by the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA).
Captain Musa Nuhu, NCAA’s Director-General (DG), announced the indefinite suspension in a statement obtained by Tracknews on Wednesday night.
The NCAA president explained that the results of an investigation into Dana Airline’s flight operations revealed that the carrier was no longer able to meet its financial obligations while also conducting safe flight operations.
“The NCAA recognizes the negative impact this pre-emptive decision will have on the airline’s passengers and the traveling public and requests their understanding, as flight operations safety takes precedence over all other considerations,” the statement continued.
Meanwhile, Dana Airlines confirmed the suspension in a statement issued on Wednesday.
“Our operations have been suspended as advised by the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) in order to undergo a full operational audit beginning at midnight on July 20th, 2022,” the statement said.
