Katsina village is attacked by 300 bandits, who kill five police officers and three civilians.

Ibekimi Oriamaja Reports.
Eight people were killed when more than 300 bandits attacked Gatigawa village in Katsina State.
The victims of the attack on a police checkpoint in Kankara Local Government Area (LGA) of Katsina State are five Mobile Police Officers and three civilians, according to Track News
The terrorists were from Ado Alero’s camp, and they were recently turbaned Sarkin Fulani by the Emir of Yandoton in Tsafe LGA, Zamfara State. The Emir was later suspended as a result of his actions.
Around 6:30 p.m., the terrorists were said to have stormed the community on over 200 motorcycles. They then proceeded to the police checkpoint, where they killed five special-duty police officers as well as three other civilians.
According to sources, the attack could be a form of protest against the withdrawal of their master’s title and the police and governments of Katsina and Zamfara states’ renewed assault on his arrest.
The state police spokesperson, SP Gambo Isah, confirmed the attack.
He claims that the police officers, along with three civilians, were killed while repelling an attack on Gatigawa village.
“Over 300 terrorists were present, all of whom were fully armed.” The five officers are from Kano State and were assigned on special duty to Gatikawa. According to Isah, terrorists attacked them at 6.45 p.m.
