BY: Mohammed Oluwatimileyin Taoheed
YENAGOA— Sorrow has taken the streets of Yenagoa, Bayelsa State as unknown gunmen reportedly shot dead Hon. Odeinyefa Ogbolosingah in broad daylight today in Yenegoa, the capital of Bayelsa State.
When reached, a family member confirmed to TrackNews Nigeria under the plea of anonymity that the politician was shot dead.
“Yes, it is true. He was shot dead. It is disheartening to us all. We bemoan this”, he confirmed.
As at the time of filling this report, we could not gather the perpetrators and all efforts of our Correspondent to reach the Police Department of the State proved abortive as their lines were not connecting.
A resident lamented that over 3 different persons have been murdered gruesomely in the state capital in the past few weeks with the government paying little attention.
While seeking for the urgent intervention of the state government, the man said: “We have recorded at least 3 persons who have been murdered in the state capital in the past few weeks. It is with a sad heart that I’m saying this. Yenegoa is now black and dark, the people are not happy at all. We are not safe anymore, we can no longer sleep with our two eyes closed.
Therefore, we call on Gov. Douye Diri and the security operatives in general to kindly come to our aid.”
