‘There is no better farewell present for Buhari than Tinubu’s victory.’ Adamu Adamu, Chairman of the APC
By Adeleye Kunle
The victory of presidential candidate Bola Tinubu would be a partying gift for President Muhammadu Buhari, according to the All Progressives Congress (APC) National Chairman, Abdullahi Adamu, ahead of his exit from office in 2023.
Adamu stated this during a meeting of party leaders with President Muhammadu Buhari on Saturday in Abuja.
He stated that the main goal of the party is to win the general elections, and that there is no better way to send Buhari off than to ensure that the APC produces the next president.
“Our main goal is to see the APC succeed in the upcoming general elections,” he said.
“There is no better farewell gift (for Buhari) than ensuring that the APC produces the next President.”
Atiku Bagudu, Chairman of the Progressives Governors Forum (PGF), said Buhari had set a precedent for internal party democracy.
The governor of Kebbi state stated that the Nigerian leader has seen that the democratic process can produce very good results.
“We have seen that democratic processes can produce very good results.”
Bagudu went on to say that the ruling party has a candidate and a running mate that they are all proud of.
