SERAP Urges Kwankwaso, Peter Obi To Declare Assets Publicly, Reject Vote-Buying Politics
By Adeleye Kunle
The presidential candidates of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), Rabiu Kwankwaso, and the Labour Party (LP), Peter Obi, have been urged to publicly declare their assets.
The Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project, or SERAP, made the request in a series of tweets.
According to SERAP, Kwankwaso and Obi should follow in the footsteps of Omoyele Sowore and make their assets public before the 2023 presidential election.
The organization also urged presidential candidates to publicly oppose vote-buying ahead of the elections.
According to SERAP, Kwankwaso and Obi should condemn electoral bribery both before and during the election.
“Dear @PeterObi, as the presidential election in February 2023 approaches, we are once again calling on you to demonstrate leadership by urgently publishing details of your assets and publicly rejecting vote-buying and electoral bribery before and during the elections.”
