By Adeleye Kunle
Kano State Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje donated N3.8 million yesterday to the families of the 19 people killed in a car crash on the Zaria-Kano Expressway. Each of the victims’ families will receive N200,000.
According to witnesses, the deceased were burned to death.
Ganduje paid a visit to the area and expressed his condolences to the families.
“We were shocked to learn of their deaths, and we pray that Allah Subhanahu Wata’ala forgive all their wrongdoings and reward their good deeds with Jannah,” he said.
According to Abba Anwar, Governor Ganduje’s Chief Press Secretary, the governor directed the Chairman of the local government area to write to the state government and request the construction of a primary school in the area. He promised to take action on the proposal as soon as possible.
“I assure you that this town will be included in the Federal Government’s dry season farming intervention to help the people of this area,” he said.
