World Record: Bayelsa Commissioner Hails Tobi Amusan

Hon. Daniel Igali, the Commissioner for Youth and sports Development in Bayelsa State, has sent his congratulatory message to Tobi Amusan, the Nigeria’s ‘almost girl’ who now rules the world with her new feat.Amusan, the first Nigerian athlete to win a gold medal in the World Athletics, first ran a blistering 12:12 seconds to shatter the world record of 12:20 seconds set by Kendra Harrison of U.S. in the semi-finals.A statement credited to the Hon. Commissioner, Tobi has taken the country to a high mountain with giant strides.“Sports remains a veritable avenue to harness the talents of our youths, create jobs and above all, contribute immensely to much-needed peace and unity in our dear country Nigeria,” he added.TrackNews Nigeria learnt that Daniel Igali, a World and Olympic Champion freestyle wrestler is also the Pesident of Nigeria Wrestling Federation.
