The Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps, NSCDC, has forwarded a one-day ultimatum to private guard companies to adhere strictly with the laid down rules and regulations as enshrined in the PGC Act.
Musa Alhaji Mala (CC), the Jigawa State NSCDC Commandant, made the issue while having a meeting with the state Chairman, the Association of Private Guards Companies.
He said this is in a bid to re-strategise the private guard companies and ensure strict compliance for effective service delivery.
“You have to ensure strict compliance with the laid down rules and regulations as enshrined in the PGC act which include registration of companies, revalidation of expired licenses, prompt payment of employee allowances, use of approved uniforms, display of identification cards, training and retraining of personnel, operating offices within the State, among others,”
Mala added: “Your significance in the provision of security in the State and the nation at large especially in area of intelligence gathering and sharing cannot be over emphasized.”
He gave a one-month ultimatum to all the private guard companies to put their houses in order for strong security.
Mr. Anthony Michael, the State Chairman of the PGC Association told Track News Nigeria of their readiness to comply with the orders in Dutse, the capital of the State.
Our Correspondent, Mr. Mohammed Oluwatimileyin Taoheed, says NSCDC is assigned with the duty of overseeing the activities of private guard companies in the country as enshrined in the NSCDC Act Section 3, subsection b, c, d of 2007 as amended.
