Together with 17 other suspects, one of the suspected masterminds of apprehended the 2021 Jos prison breakout has been apprehended by the Plateau State Police Command.

They were held on suspicion of offenses like kidnapping, conspiracy, trespassing, armed robbery, and unlawful firearm possession.

According to Police Commissioner Mr. Bartholomew Onyeka, Mohammed Ibrahim, 39, who escaped from the Jos Correctional Center, was once again apprehended.

Oneyaka made the assertion that he was one of the perpetrators that organized the November 28, 2021 attack on the Jos Correctional Institution.

The speaker went on to say that the defendant was officially confirmed to be in custody pending trial for an alleged case of criminal conspiracy and kidnapping that allegedly took place before the incident.

He was ultimately taken into custody once more in April 2022 in the Wamba Area of Nasarawa State. The CP announced that he would be brought to the Nigeria Correctional Center’s Plateau State Command.

Onyeaka additionally asserted that Special Tactical Squad men who were connected to the leadership had kidnapped Haruna Hamisu and were holding her in custody.

“During interrogation, the suspect admitted to belonging to the infamous kidnapping gang that has been accosting motorists and their passengers along the Jengre-Saminaka Road, robbing them, and kidnapping them.

According to information, the Federal Investigation Bureau (FIB) Special Tactical Squad pursued the kidnappers to their hiding places in the Kudaru Forest and detained three suspects, all of whom were from the Plateau State village of Igabi: Umaru Hassan, age 20, Rufai Hasimu, age 20, and Adamu Ali, age 21. “Other gang members fled,” was stated.
