By 2025, Edo will assist 500 MSMEs in increasing revenue to N10 million annually.

The State Skills Development Agency (EdoJobs) Entrepreneurship Roadmap 2.0 was published by the Edo State Government with the goal of helping 500 Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise (MSME) communities increase their revenue to N10 million annually in 2025.

This was said by the managing director, Mrs. Ukinebo Dare, at the Government House in Benin City at the unveiling of EdoJobs Entrepreneurship Roadmap 2.0.

The strategy, according to her, is in accordance with the goal of the Edo State Government to create a community of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME), providing services to 20,000 active members, 500 of whom have become formalized and will increase their revenue to #10 million per year by 2025.

She claims that “the EdoJobs Business Success Scorecard gives upwardly mobile businesses a roadmap to business success and is based on ten key milestones: Business formalization, sales and marketing competence, capacity for financial management, membership in trade organizations/associations, human resource management, continuous capacity building, high technology adoption, product development and diversification, mentorship and networking, as well as external fundi

Every achievement is worth 50 points, and anyone who achieves a score of 500 qualifies to join the exclusive EdoFuture500 Business Community. This is a feat that can only be accomplished by those who are focused and disciplined.

Segun Majekodunmi, Head of Entrepreneurship at EdoJobs, stated that the state government is funding a program to convert tiny, one-man operations into employers of labor.

Mr. Peters Obaseki, the chairman of the MSME Advisory Board for the Edo State Government, urged businesspeople to fulfill the requirements to be recognized as entrepreneurs in the state in order to take advantage of the advantages granted to recognized entrepreneurs by the Edo State Government as well as local and foreign investors.

“Through a target-driven scorecard, the EdoJobs Business Scorecard, entrepreneurs in the state may expand their revenues and improve the sustainability of their businesses,” he continued.
