Babangida expects Atiku to triumph in Rivers, South.
Ibekimi Oriamaja Reports
Former Niger State governor Dr. Babangida Aliyu claimed that PDP presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar would win Rivers State and the South-South region in the 2023 election.
Babangida said that Rivers State and the entire South South are historically PDP strongholds when he inaugurated the PDP Ward 2 Ward 2022 National Conference’s central planning committee.
The former governor asserts that important figures are exerting significant effort to ensure that the PDP continues to have electoral success.
Despite the disagreement between Governor Nyesom Wike and the PDP’s presidential candidate Atiku, Babangida predicted that the PDP would win Rivers State. Dr. Golu Timothy, the head of the media and publicity committee for the central planning committee, served as Babangida’s representative.
The efforts to unite the two factions were acknowledged, but he emphasized that they needed to be positive, reasonable, and realistic.
Babangida, “I admire your efforts at the W2W and thank you for them. We are extremely proud of you because up until now you have been the party’s major grassroots supporter and pillar.
“The goal of this campaign is to ensure that Atiku wins the election in February of next year. Atiku should win, but more needs to be done to make it happen.
“Avoid spending more time considering money than what needs to be done. Atiku is needed in this nation. Spread the word by going to your polling sites. While still in Abuja, we shouldn’t continue to utilize improper grammar.
