The National Working Committee (NWC), the Caucus, the Board of Trustees (BoT), and Atiku Abubakar, the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, have all approved the creation of the presidential campaign council (PDP).
According to reports, certain officials from the opposition party had also urged punishing Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike and his supporters for engaging in anti-party actions, while other leaders preferred continuing the reconciliation process.

“We held a large consultation meeting and I can guarantee you that the membership of the council would be disclosed in the next two weeks,”

“Campaigns begin the next month, so we want to be operational by then. All of our members, including the influential leaders in Rivers State, have been contacted.

We are making preparations for our impending move. You are aware that both individuals and groups have egos that need to be massaged and that the PDP possesses many qualities, much like a large family. That is what we are doing.

The majority is more in favor of keeping up efforts at reconciliation because we are in opposition and need everyone more than the ruling party, despite some calling for us to use the heavy stick.

According to a different party source who requested anonymity: “The PDP has dealt with issues that were more challenging; this one came and went. Governor Wike is a party animal, as he confessed himself, and his name is regularly brought up when discussing the problems we are currently facing.

“He is admired, respected, and relied upon by other party leaders to further their political objectives. He feels bound to defend those who risked their lives to back him while he was running for office, regardless of their intentions.

We haven’t moved forward because of this until now, but we must now because we still have an election to win and crucial jobs that need to be filled. Right now, the patience component is the problem.

Paul Ibe, a PDP presidential candidate and a supporter of Atiku Abubakar, also addressed and declared that the party’s current problems were being resolved.

“My principal assured the group and each attendee that they would all receive assistance. That dedication has not altered.
