Taiwo Awoniyi thrilled to open his goal account for Premier League club, Nottingham Forest

Adeleye Kunle Reports
Taiwo Awoniyi is overjoyed to have scored his first goal for Premier League club Nottingham Forest, TrackNews reports.
On Sunday, Awoniyi scored the game-winning goal as Steve Cooper’s side defeated West Ham United at the City Ground.
The Nigeria international became the first Forest player to score in the Premier League since 1999.
“I’m really happy with the goal because it’s been a long road to get back to the Premier League,” Awoniyi said on BBC Match of the Day 2.
“That’s why I’m extremely proud of myself, and I’m grateful to God for it.”
The 25-year-old also discussed the atmosphere at City Ground.
The Reds lost their first game of the season against Newcastle United, but the atmosphere around the stadium was crucial in their victory over the Hammers.
“The most important thing for me is that the team wins,” he continued.
“We have to thank the fans because they were all behind us from the start of the game until the end, and it’s what kept the team going until the final whistle.”
“We just have to keep going.” I believe we’ll have a successful season in the end.
