A pastor has been arrested over the demise of a married woman who visited him for help.
Pastor Eric Okyem has been arrested by the Akyem Oda police over the demise of a married woman who visited him for help.
On Tuesday April 25, 2023 42-years-old married woman, Mrs Ama Nkansah Appiah visited her spiritual father in his home for help and in the process of performing his task, he bathed her with ‘spiritual oil’.
The woman’s body got fire so she was rushed to the Akyem Oda Government Hospital who also referred her to the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital in Accra where she eventually passed away.
Family of the deceased reached out to Pastor Okyem to find out what actually happened and he denied knowledge of the whole thing.
The pastor said he hadn’t seen the woman for about a month.
A sister of the deceased who once accompanied her to the pastor’s house led the family there and they found traces of burns in the room including the mattress his clients usually sits on when they come for spiritual help.
This have the pastor away and eventually the police manage to arrest him.
Photos taken at the police station shows signs of burns on his hands which makes it difficult for him to deny knowledge of what happened to the deceased.
