Lt. Commodore Ibrahim Babainan (rtd), the People’s Redemption Party’s (PRP) Adamawa State Governorship Candidate, unveiled Mrs. Rebecca Audu as his running mate over the weekend in Yola.

Babainan stated that his deputy was chosen after extensive consultations and searches both within and outside the state.

He went on to say that she was chosen for the job because of her track record in both the civil service and politics.

Babainan stated that the PRP has decided to remain in the state, adding that for the first time ever, the party has filled candidates in all of the state’s political offices, with the exception of one seat in the Federal House of Representatives.

“Our great party has filed candidates in three Senate seats, 25 State House of Assembly seats, seven out of eight Federal House of Representatives seats, and the governorship candidate with his running mate for the 2023 general elections in Adamawa State,” he said.

“I am not afraid of the upcoming general elections in 2023, given the caliber of candidates fielded by the party.”

He stated that these candidates are brave enough to take on other parties’ candidates in the 2023 elections.

According to the governorship candidate, the meeting was held not only to introduce his deputy but also to organize a retreat for PRP candidates to go back to the drawing board and strategize on how to persuade voters to vote the party to power in the state.

“We will not use violence, but rather wisdom and intelligence, as well as brainstorm on how we will win elections in the state,” he said.

Mrs. Rebecca Audu, a seasoned politician, stated in her remarks that she was grateful to her principal for selecting her as his running mate for the 2023 general elections.

She did, however, commend the party for standing by Babainan and urged party members to work tirelessly to ensure the party’s victory in the state.
