Air Force Institute matriculates 1,673 Students
The Air Force Institute of Technology (AFIT) in Kaduna State has matriculated 1,673 students into 9 faculties and 28 departments for the 2022/2023 academic session.
The Commandant Armed Forces Command and Staff College, Jaji, Air Vice Marshal Emmanuel Wonah during last Saturday’s matriculation at the Ibrahim Alfa Auditorium, commended the Commandant of AFIT Air Vice Marshal Paul Jemitola for acknowledging the dedication of workers of the Institute.
While congratulating the students, he charged them to do better than other universities in Nigeria which do not have the benefit of their theoretical and practical training.
AVM Wonah also urged the students to study carefully the contents of the oath of allegiance they had sworn so as to adhere strictly to them.
The AFIT Commandant, Air Vice Marshal Jemitola encouraged the students to strike a balance between their academics, social and emotional lives while focusing on their goals.
“This is especially important because certificates are awarded based on learning and character.”
The Commandant also reiterated the Institute’s zero stance on cultism, hooliganism, examination malpractice and corruption.
He further advised the matriculated students to respect the staff and fellow students to make their stay fruitful and productive.
“Be modest and decent in your dressing and approach to issues, eschew violence and actions that may bring the Institute into disrepute,“ he said.
The Provost of the Institute, Professor Mohammed Dauda urged the students to be purposeful in all their learning activities by taking advantage of the wealth of experienced staff and the practical contents of all AFIT programmes.
He also encouraged the students to develop the culture of learning from each other to complement the formal teaching and learning process.
