Akwa Ibom Commissioner of Police Dies in Lagos

Akwa Ibom Commissioner of Police, Waheed Ayilara, has died in Lagos.
His death was confirmed earlier today in a statement by his family.
According to report, Ayilara, died in the early hours of Thursday at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital, Ikeja.
“We are very sad to inform you that our friend, brother, and family, the Commissioner of Police for Akwa Ibom State, Waheed Ayilara, is dead,” the family was quoted as saying.
It was gathered that the deceased had undergone prostrate cancer surgery yesterday which led to his death.
Meanwhile, his death yet to be officially confirmed by the Lagos Police Command.
However, a top police officer in Akwa Ibom State, who spoke on condition of anonymity because he was not authorised to speak on the matter, confirmed the CP’s death.
