Akwa Ibom: Gov Emmanuel inaugurates PDP guber campaign council, warns against calumny, hate speech

Governor Udom Emmanuel of Akwa Ibom State has inaugurated a governorship campaign council and committees of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in the state for the 2023 general elections.
While inaugurating the council tagged ‘Umo Eno/Akon Eyankeyi campaign organisation at the campaign secretariat, Ewet Housing Estate Uyo; the governor urged members to adhere to issue-based campaigns devoid of calumny, vitriol, mudslinging and violence even as he urged the opponents to reciprocate same.
Gov. Emmanuel expressed hope that the standard bearer of the party, Pastor Umo Eno would perform more than him when elected stressing, “He that is coming after me, is greater than me.”
He also urged members of the PDP to work as hard as they have always done over the years to ensure a resounding victory for the party.
“Focus on issue-based campaigns devoid of calumny, mudslinging, vitriol and violence,” the governor admonished.
Speaking after the inauguration, the Director-General of the Umo Eno/Akon Eyakenyi Campaign Organization, Amb. Assam Assam SAN, assured that the campaigns would be free of violence, thuggery and other political vices.
