Rafael Everton on Akwa United
In a report by the NPFL website, Everton confirmed how he intends to approach his new role.
He said, “I have everything needed to succeed as a coach with the club. I like the challenge. It is a new challenge.
“I love Nigeria and for me, it’s like a second home. I believe I will have a great time here with the club (Akwa United).
“The club has the pedigree and style which everyone admires. The team plays possessive football and I am used to a 3-5-2 formation, but I will start here with a 4-3-3 formation.”
“I am very happy the deal is done and we have to get to work immediately. The league will start in less than a month, and we must prepare the team. I will work in harmony with the coaches I have met on ground.”
Everton who won the Aiteo Cup in 2016 at just 27 replaces Abdu Maikaba who is now the coach of Plateau United.
